Battlefield 4 is the next step in the Battlefield series. It will be powered by DICE's proprietary Frostbite 3 Engine to create their most human, dramatic, and believable game yet.
Battlefield 4 has been announced for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with the current gen. No news if it will release on the Wii U. The game will run at 60 frames per second on the next-gen consoles, and will allow 64-player multiplayer matches like on PC. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners, however, will be limited to only 24 player matches.

Most of the attention is on Battlefield 4's Multiplayer. Like its predecessor, Battlefield 4 will have 64 person Multiplayer (24 on current gen consoles). It will feature the same four Kits (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon), and the destruction is amped up to a whole new level.Battlefield 4 is the next step in the Battlefield series. The former allows a single player on each team to assist their teammates by issuing instructions through a top-down interface. The player can see where their team is, including vehicles and other assets. The player will have abilities like dropping tomahawk missiles, triggering EMP, deploying gunships, or enabling UAVs.
EA confirmed that they are bringing the Commander Mode experience to iPad and Android tablets via Battlelog. They will be identically functional to their console and PC counterparts.
Two expansion packs have also been announced, one being a timed exclusive for the Xbox One. See the Expansion Packs page for more details.
Battlefield 4 will have a beta trial available in the Fall of 2013. No exact date is set, nor the contents of the beta. It will be available to players all over the world except Japan and all of Asia for PS3.
As of now, the Beta is only open to a select group of people. Those people must do one of the following to gain entrance:
